  Workshops

I enjoy sharing my work and I am happy to teach a small group of artists, run a workshop or give individual tuition.

For further information please contact me: jenny@jkennish.com

Testimonial:- Jenny is an inspirational teacher and a fine artist. At the workshop she is able to demonstrate techniques of coloured pencil, either alone or combined with watercolour and gouache. Jenny's methods are then used by the participants, who under her sympathetic guidance produce work they didn't consider possible, whilst still retaining their own individuality.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jenny as a tutor; she has taught me so much over the past 3 years, and will continue to do so.

Testimonial:-   I have known Jenny for a number of years and have had the pleasure of doing some of her courses.

I found Jenny to be a good teacher with a great knowledge of her subject and she made things sound so easy, far easier than I had ever imagined.

Her skills with most, if not all, art mediums, are well known, and her instructional technique is superb, I would recommend her courses to anyone who is thinking of wanting to learn how to draw or paint anything to do with wildlife, and nature in general.

Testimonial:- As a relative newcomer to art with little experience of colour pencils Jenny introduced me to new techniques which had a dramatic impact on my work. Jenny has a natural ability to teach and her observational skills are quick to identify how ones’ attempts can be improved; her tips, comments and criticism are always helpful and valued. I appreciate as a result of attending Jenny’s workshops how much more observant I need to be if I am ever to see as an artist does.

Testimonial:- Jenny is wholly responsible for my return to coloured pencils after I saw some of her work and became convinced of what could be achieved with this humble medium.  In order to gain more experience using them, I attended several of Jenny's workshops where, not only did I learn a lot, but experienced well structured teaching methods coupled with a lively and friendly atmosphere.

Jenny is a true inspiration with her fantastic teaching abilities combined with her amazing artistic talent.  She has a real feel for nature which shines through in her paintings and she is always willing to share her knowledge or give invaluable assistance.  Very Highly Recommended.

Testimonial:- From the outset you cannot fail to be touched by Jenny's passion for her animal art and wildlife in particular. Her ability to tell a story within her artwork, illustrates her sensitivity to the subject she is painting. She has an empathy with all her students and she succeeds where others may fail. Her workshops are a cornucopia of her bubbly persona grata. In brief, they are fun and at the end of her workshop you will be smitten and want to attend the next one.

Emanating from her workshops, my first solo painting in pure artists' coloured pencils was of a Giant Panda. It personifies everything that I have learned from Jenny and although I could have sold it a hundredfold, it is not for sale and never will be. To any person, irrespective of their artistic ability, and who has yet to attend one of Jenny's workshops, I say

"It was life-changing step for me and it could be for you."

"Testimonial:- Jenny's workshops are fun and packed with useful information, techniques and tips to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of the use of colour and light whether working in coloured pencil, water colour or acrylics, or a combination of these mediums.  After instruction you find yourself paying greater attention to composition and the production of a 3 - dimensional painting instead of a flat looking picture.  Subjects in your paintings benefit from Jenny's valuable advice and fresh approach to natural looking backgrounds and foregrounds that will enhance them.   Anyone interested in developing their artistic talents will enjoy Jenny's workshops".

  Dear Jenny,

This is to say how much i have missed your classes.   When i used to do my own thing as you might say, I didn't realise how flat my drawings were until coming to your classes.   You certainly opened my eyes as to what could be achieved with your knowledge and now I look at my art with a completely different approach.

I look forward to being able to attend your classes in the future as i know you have a lot more knowledge to pass my way.
                                          Kind regards,
                                                            Sandie.
